Student answer (Band 5.5)
A huge number of student choose to study english by them selfs or at home instead of joining a online class course. However, without the assistance of a teacher, students often find it difficult to manage their studies.
To began with, why students face many difficulties in learning english is because english language has many complex rules in grammer, vocabulary, and pronouncation. When the student study on their own, they often do not know which topics are important and where to start. As a result they waste their alot of time in useless materials. without a teacher to correct the mistake in writting and speaking is very difficult.
Another important point is motivation and discipline. Studying independently requires high will power. When there is no regular teacher, timetable, or exams to follow, many students become lazy and stop practicing daily. For example, a student might decide to practice speaking every day, but due to lack of strict guidance, they easily delay their studies. A formal teacher keeps students discipline, checks their progress, and encourages them when they lose confidence.
In conclusion, although self-study offers flexibility, I fully agree that learning english without a teacher creates major difficulties. Having an instructor provide proper guidence ,feedback, and motivation which are essential for learning english language.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you fully agree that learning without a teacher creates difficulties. You give relevant reasons, including the complexity of English and the challenges of maintaining motivation, and the example of a student postponing speaking practice supports the second point. However, the response addresses the task only partially because both reasons are briefly explained and the first lacks a specific example or fuller development. The conclusion also repeats your view rather than adding a developed final point. The response contains 194 words, below the required 250; 18 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each reason with explanation and a relevant example, and meet the minimum length.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction is followed by two body paragraphs, each focused on a reason, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin with,” “Another important point,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. Some cohesion is mechanical, however, because the paragraphs rely heavily on these signposts rather than linking ideas more flexibly. The opening repeats much of the task wording, and the connection between the claim about complex English rules and wasting time on “useless materials” could be explained more clearly. Improve progression by showing how each cause leads to its consequence and by using clear references between sentences, rather than relying mainly on paragraph-opening phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “motivation,” “discipline,” “guidance,” and “confidence.” These choices suit the topic, and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy: “grammer,” “pronouncation,” “writting,” and “guidence.” Some expressions are also awkward, such as “high will power” and “keeps students discipline.” Repeated use of “English,” “teacher,” and “students” further limits variety. Build a more accurate range of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; for example, use “self-discipline” and “maintains students’ discipline” where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a few complex structures, including “When there is no regular teacher, timetable, or exams to follow” and the result link “As a result…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. Examples include “A huge number of student choose,” “To began with,” and “When the student study,” where agreement or verb forms are incorrect. The final sentence, “Having an instructor provide proper guidance, feedback, and motivation which are essential,” is incomplete and lacks a clear main clause. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and complete sentence construction. Proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries as well, especially around introductory phrases.
