Student answer (Band 5.5)
The large number of students prefer of study English by their self on the basis of studying by their on rather than attending formal classes. However, in absence of teacher guidence and support, pupils often consider it difficult to manage their studies.
In the proper guidence of a teacher or instructor, students find it easy to learn as teacher gives them the roadmap for studing the course. He provides the tips and tricks to achieve better results without any ambiguity. Meanwhile, teacher does not want from his student to do the same mistakes what he did during the learning. This gives learners a proper blueprint that how things work and as well as it is time efficient.
On the other hand, if students start learning by their own they probably find them self surrounded in confusion like where to start. Many pupils reported that we score less because we do self study and there was no one who could guide or teach us. This gives us an evidence, that having a proper assistance from a good instructor helps childerns to learn quickly and perform best in their studies.
In my point of view, i believe that having a guidence from a good teacher helps the students to achieve better results in the comparison of students who are self studying. If the learners want to learn effectively they have to choose to study from the teacher rather than studying by their own. This helps them to be confident in their studies and could be satisfy their learning requirements.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you favour learning with a teacher, and you address the contrast with independent study. Relevant reasons include teachers providing a “roadmap,” preventing learners from repeating mistakes, and helping them avoid confusion about where to begin. These points support your view, but some are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that students “score less” in self-study is presented as a report without a specific example or explanation of how this happens. The response also focuses mainly on general learning rather than English study in particular. To strengthen the argument, develop one or two reasons with concrete examples, and acknowledge when independent study might work well before explaining why teacher support is still preferable.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting the benefits of teacher guidance and the difficulties of self-study, and a concluding opinion. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” and “In my point of view” help signal the direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and some connections between claims are unclear. For instance, “This gives us an evidence” does not clearly show how the preceding report supports the conclusion. The conclusion also repeats the preference for a teacher without adding a final synthesis. Use clearer links between each reason and its consequence, and organise each body paragraph around one main point supported by an explanation or example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of relevant vocabulary, including “roadmap,” “blueprint,” “ambiguity,” and “assistance,” and the reader can generally understand your argument. There are also attempts to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary, such as describing learners as “surrounded in confusion.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “prefer of study,” “in absence of teacher guidence,” and “perform best in their studies.” Spelling errors such as “studing,” “childerns,” and “guidence” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “prefer to study,” “without a teacher’s guidance,” and “perform better academically.” This would make your vocabulary more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if students start learning by their own” and clauses explaining what teachers provide. Meaning is usually recoverable, but grammatical errors occur across the response and sometimes make sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “students find it easy to learn as teacher gives them,” where the article is missing, and “could be satisfy their learning requirements,” where the verb construction is faulty. There are also problems with agreement and pronouns, as in “they probably find them self,” and inconsistent capitalisation of “i.” Practise accurate sentence patterns, especially subject–verb agreement, articles, pronouns, and verb forms. Shorter, carefully checked sentences would help you control grammar while retaining some complex structures.
