Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is argued that a huge number of students choose to study english independently on a self-study basis rather than attend a formal course.however , without the assistance of a teacher, in my opinion i agree with that cause learning languages alone at home is more better than learning from teachers or at schools .

In the one hand , learning languages alone at home or via computer or any digital tools it can be easier and faster to reach your goals rather than taking informations from teachers , perhaps the learning probabley can be so slow and take long time to be fluent in the language you learning it . furthermore making free time for practice its very beneficial and great and this it gives you motivitation to learn more and have discipline .

However , some of students or begginers prefer to go and learn through teachers and those who have an experience otherwise they can encourage them and show them the steps where they start so students cant be dissapointed or giving up . furthermore teachers can manage their studies and know what are their levels and rate them in order students can have heigh experience and secured their future and leading them to the right place .

In conclusion , i can say booth ways are beneficial to learn languages wherever alone or through teachers in the end you find yourself fluent in that language . therefore some steps need to learn it for acheiving the dreams .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a recognisable opinion that independent study can be better, and you also acknowledge that teachers can guide and encourage learners. However, the position is not consistently explained: the opening supports studying alone, while the conclusion says both methods are beneficial without clarifying which view you ultimately hold or to what extent. The reasons—flexibility, motivation, teacher guidance and avoiding discouragement—are relevant, but are mostly asserted rather than explained with specific examples. The response also contains 225 words, below the required 250; the 28 words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop each main reason with an example and make your final position explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic essay structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “However,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. Nevertheless, progression within paragraphs is uneven: several points are joined together without showing how one leads to the next, and the conclusion introduces a broad claim that both methods work rather than resolving the argument. Some linking is repetitive, and “In the one hand” does not form a clear transition. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one central reason, explain it in sequence, and use referencing and transitions that clearly connect the supporting example to that reason.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general discussion, including “independently,” “formal course,” “discipline,” “encourage,” and “manage their studies.” There are also attempts to express ideas such as motivation and future prospects. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make parts difficult to interpret, for example “taking informations,” “the learning probabley,” and “secured their future.” Spelling errors such as “begginers,” “dissapointed,” and “motivitation” are noticeable. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing learning methods, and check spelling and collocations so your meaning is consistently clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “rather than,” “otherwise,” and “in order.” This shows an effort to vary sentence structure. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence formation, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. For example, “learning languages alone at home or via computer or any digital tools it can be easier” has an unclear subject and structure, while “students cant be dissapointed or giving up” mixes forms. Capitalisation and spacing around punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise building accurate sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses and check that verb forms remain consistent.
