Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays,A large amount of students selects to study English on their behalf rather than attend a formal course. In spite of without the assistance of a teacher, students often find it difficult to manage their studies.I strongly agree that without the assistance of a teacher, students often find difficulties to manage their studies.

One important reason for the asssistance of a teacher is neccesary for students that teacher can provide personalized feedback and correction.Self study materials are often miss subtle in grammer and pronunciation. For instance if students had a grammatical or pronunciation mistakes.a good teacher should corrects their errors in real time.Teachers assess indivisual student weakness whether it is sentence structure or grammatical mistakes.A good teachers should support students emotionally like celebrating achievments and adapt lessons to keep learnig.

Another benefit is that the assistance of teacher should encourages student to keep intersted in education, while on the other hand if the students study independently they faces many difficulties to maintaining their interest and they waste lot of time in many other activities. For instance the students who learn english independently,Especailly in online learning they wastes a lot of time in social media like watching reels and volgar content distract them to pay attention on study.

In conclusion,I strongly agreed that the assistance of student is compulsory for students, especially the student who study english because in this learning teachers can give personalized feedback , oppinion or correction.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that learners need a teacher, and you give relevant reasons, including personalised correction and help maintaining motivation. The examples about correcting pronunciation and grammar and being distracted by social media support the topic. However, the ideas are brief and sometimes unclear; for example, the point about teachers adapting lessons is introduced but not explained, and the social-media example could show more directly how a teacher helps. The conclusion repeats your view rather than drawing the reasons together. The response contains 211 words, so it is 39 words below the 250-word minimum; this limits the development of your argument. Extend each main point with explanation and a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. The sequence from feedback to motivation is logical, and phrases such as “For instance” help signal examples. However, connections are sometimes mechanical or unclear. In the second body paragraph, “while on the other hand” creates an awkward contrast, and the sentence about social media combines several ideas without clearly showing their relationship. Some references, such as “this learning” in the conclusion, are not precise. Use clearer links between each claim, explanation, and example, and make sure each sentence has one main purpose. This would make the progression easier to follow while preserving your useful paragraph structure.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “personalized feedback,” “pronunciation,” “sentence structure,” and “maintaining their interest.” These choices show an attempt to discuss teaching and independent study specifically. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts less clear, such as “on their behalf,” “miss subtle in grammer,” “volgar content,” and “assistance of student.” Repetition of “students,” “teacher,” and “difficulties” also restricts flexibility. Build accuracy by learning common combinations such as “study independently,” “receive feedback,” and “maintain motivation,” and check spelling before submitting. More precise vocabulary would help express your ideas without changing their meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons and examples, and the reader can generally identify your main position. However, the range of structures is limited, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty. For example, “A good teacher should corrects their errors” has an incorrect verb form, while “they faces many difficulties to maintaining their interest” has problems with agreement and the verb pattern. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “the assistance of teacher” and “a grammatical or pronunciation mistakes.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention, particularly where a full stop separates “For instance” from its example. Practise accurate sentence patterns before adding more complexity.
