The provided bar graph illustrates the information about the individuals perceived and actual likelihood of being a victim of crime.

Overall, the visual data depicts the comparison between the three different categories of crime like, Burglary, car crime and violent crime.

Highest ratio was recorded in perceived car crime in 2009/10. The percentage was same in burglary and violent crime with 15% in 2009/10. Similarly, the ratio was highest perceived in 2010/11 in car crime with 17% ,13% in burglary and violent crime.

But in violent crime it was 3.5%. Likewise, the ratio in 2010/11 in actual crime almost same as 2009/10 with a minor difference as in burglary it was just rose with 0.1%. Oppositely, it was decreased in car crime by same ratio.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers the main features of the graph, identifying the key trends in perceived versus actual crime. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear, cohesive overview. While you have selected data points to support your points, the comparison between the two years is occasionally confusing due to the way the data is presented. To reach a higher band, ensure that the 'overview' paragraph clearly highlights the most significant trend—namely, that perceived danger is consistently and significantly higher than the actual likelihood across all categories. Some data points, such as the specific percentages for 2010/11, are presented in a list-like fashion rather than being synthesized into a comparative narrative.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression between sentences is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of varied cohesive devices. For example, the transition between the discussion of 2009/10 and 2010/11 is abrupt. You rely heavily on simple connectors like 'However' and 'Similarly'. To improve, try using more sophisticated linking phrases such as 'In contrast to this,' or 'Conversely, when examining the data for the following year,' to better guide the reader through your comparison of the two time periods.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You use terms like 'ratio' and 'percentage' repeatedly, which makes the writing feel repetitive. There are also some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'actual rate crime' instead of 'actual crime rate' and 'the ratio was at on least' which is grammatically unclear. To improve, try to incorporate more varied terminology related to statistics and trends, such as 'proportion,' 'figure,' 'fluctuated,' or 'remained stable'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'The percentage was same in burglary' (missing article 'the'), 'the ratio was highest perceived' (awkward word order), and 'it was just rose with 0.1%' (incorrect verb tense/preposition usage). While the meaning is generally understandable, these recurring errors in articles, prepositions, and verb forms prevent the writing from reaching a higher level of accuracy. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve your score.
