Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified the main features of the graph, the analysis is somewhat superficial. You have grouped the data into perceived and actual categories, which is good, but the lack of sufficient detail and the failure to reach the required length means the task is only partially addressed. To improve, ensure you provide a more comprehensive overview and include more specific data comparisons between the crime types and the two time periods to fully develop your response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. For example, the transition between sentences often relies on simple structures rather than a variety of linking words. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'the burglary crime was almost same with violent crime', which lacks a clear comparative structure. Improving the flow between sentences using a wider range of cohesive devices would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'higher', 'lower', and 'same'. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'real circumstances' instead of 'actual likelihood' and 'care crime' (likely a typo for 'car crime'). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'a significant discrepancy'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'the proportion of car crime is higher in perceived periods' (missing 'the' or specific context) and 'burglary and violent was remained same'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on ensuring that your sentences are grammatically complete and that you use articles and prepositions more accurately.
