Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0

The response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which severely limits the ability to address all parts of the task. While you have provided an introduction and a brief overview, you have failed to report on the specific data points or make the necessary comparisons between the crime types and the two years. Because the response is less than half the required length, it fails to develop the task sufficiently. To improve, you must describe the specific trends for each crime type and provide supporting data from the graph to ensure a comprehensive summary.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response is too short to demonstrate a range of cohesive devices or effective paragraphing. While there is a basic attempt at an introduction and an overview, the lack of body paragraphs means there is no logical progression of ideas. The use of 'overall' and 'additionally' shows a basic attempt to link ideas, but the text is too fragmented to be considered coherent in an IELTS context. To improve, ensure you structure your report with a clear introduction, a summary of main features, and detailed body paragraphs that use linking words to connect data points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally accurate but very limited. You have used appropriate terms such as 'perceived danger', 'actual likelihood', and 'falling victim', which are relevant to the topic. However, the range is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. There is a minor error in the year '2209/10', which is likely a typo. To improve, try to incorporate a wider variety of verbs and nouns to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'a significant discrepancy'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammar is generally clear, but the range of structures is very limited. You have used a mix of simple and complex sentences, but the brevity of the text prevents a proper assessment of your ability to handle complex grammatical structures. There is a minor punctuation error regarding the spacing before the parentheses in 'Burglary , car crime'. To improve, focus on using a variety of sentence structures, such as relative clauses or comparative constructions, to describe the data more fluently.
