Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to cover the main features of the chart, comparing perceived and actual likelihood across burglary, car crime, and violent crime for two periods. However, there are notable misinterpretations of the data, such as referring to 'war crimes' instead of crime types, and stating that 2010/11 saw a visible reduction across the board when figures show mixed trends (e.g., actual burglary and violent crime actually increased slightly). Furthermore, the data description is somewhat repetitive and lacks full development of all key comparisons. This performance aligns with a Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text is organized into brief paragraphs, but the overall progression is disjointed. Introductory sentences are somewhat confusing ('However here are two type of bars...'). Cohesive devices are used mechanically or inappropriately, and referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with the abrupt shift in the final sentence. Paragraphing is rudimentary, with a very short concluding sentence that fails to properly synthesize the data. This reflects Band 5.0 descriptors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and limited ('observedd', 'liklihood', 'whiuile', 'tan'). There are several spelling mistakes ('observedd', 'liklihood', 'obeserved', 'annd', 'whiuile', 'tan') and a severe lexical error by referring to 'war crimes' instead of general crimes. While there is an attempt to use vocabulary related to data (e.g., 'perception', 'trend', 'highest'), the lexical control is weak and sometimes impedes communication. This fits a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control is inconsistent. There are numerous grammatical errors, such as missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'The car crime for year 2009/10 was the highest to be perceived that year crossing 20% whiuile the actual for that year was about les than 5 percent'). Punctuation is also weak in places. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, matching Band 5.0.
