Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully identified the main features and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered all five categories and included relevant comparisons, such as noting that petroleum and engineered goods were the largest sectors while textiles showed the highest growth. However, there is a significant data error in your description of petroleum products: you stated the figure rose to 'about 63%', which is a misinterpretation of the $63 billion value. This inaccuracy affects the precision of your reporting. Otherwise, the response is well-structured and addresses the prompt requirements effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 8.0
The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a summary. You use cohesive devices such as 'Similarly', 'In contrast', and 'Finally' to guide the reader through the data. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different categories. The progression of ideas is clear, moving from a general overview to specific details and concluding with a summary. The use of referencing is generally effective, though the flow could be slightly improved by varying the sentence starters further to avoid repetitive structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'generated', 'significant improvement', and 'substantial increase'. There are some minor issues with word choice and formatting, such as the misplaced percentage symbol before the dollar sign (e.g., '%32 billion'). Additionally, referring to the table as a 'ratio change' is slightly imprecise; 'percentage change' would be more accurate. Despite these minor slips, the vocabulary is adequate to convey the intended meaning clearly and effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. Most sentences are clear and easy to follow. There are a few grammatical slips, such as 'agricultural product showed' (should be plural 'products') and the aforementioned formatting errors with currency symbols. However, these errors do not impede communication. Your control over tense and comparative structures is generally good, and the punctuation is mostly accurate throughout the text.
