Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the main features of the provided data. You successfully identified the highest and lowest categories and included relevant comparisons. However, the report is somewhat disjointed because the data from the bar graph and the table are presented in separate paragraphs rather than being integrated. To reach a higher band, you should synthesize the information more effectively by linking the export values with their corresponding percentage changes in the same analytical flow. While the main features are clear, the overview could be more comprehensive by highlighting the overall trend of growth across most sectors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'However', and 'In addition to this'. However, the flow between the two main body paragraphs is mechanical. The transition from describing the export values to listing the percentage changes feels like two separate lists rather than a cohesive analysis. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the structure would benefit from more sophisticated linking words to connect the data points more fluidly. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the overview from the detailed analysis.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'dominated', 'consistently increased', and 'slight decline'. There are some minor spelling errors, such as 'jewllery' and 'comparision', which do not impede communication but show a lack of precision. You rely on some repetitive phrasing, such as 'making X billion', which limits the sophistication of your writing. To improve, try to vary your verbs and nouns when describing financial data, such as using 'accounted for', 'generated', or 'experienced a growth of'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'the petroleum products dominated the graph with the highest value in both the years while, textiles being least valued' (incorrect use of 'while' and missing articles). Additionally, 'didnt' is an informal contraction that should be avoided in academic writing. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring higher accuracy in basic grammar would help elevate your score.
