Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the data and provided relevant comparisons. You covered all categories and included the percentage changes as requested. However, there are some inaccuracies in your reporting of the data. For instance, you mention petroleum products earned '70 billion and 75 billion', but the table indicates these are in millions. Additionally, your description of the textiles category is confusing, as you mix up percentage values with currency values. To improve, ensure you carefully distinguish between the units (billions vs. percentages) and double-check the data points to ensure your summary is factually accurate. Overall, the task is addressed, but the precision of the data reporting needs refinement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'whereas', 'while', and 'followed by' to link ideas. However, the paragraphing is slightly unbalanced, and some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The second paragraph is a list of categories rather than a cohesive summary. To reach a higher band, work on using a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the internal structure of the sentences could be more fluid to improve the overall flow of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information, using terms like 'surveyed period', 'experienced', and 'marginally drop'. However, there are some word choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'highest exporting qualities' (instead of 'highest export values') and 'moderately rise' (should be 'moderate rise'). You also struggle with precision when describing trends, using 'initial recorded' instead of 'initially recorded'. To improve, focus on learning the correct collocations for describing data, such as 'a significant increase' or 'a slight decrease', and ensure you use the correct parts of speech when describing trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'which had slightly increased in one-year period' (missing article) and 'reached to about 75 billion' (unnecessary preposition). You also have issues with subject-verb agreement and tense consistency. For example, 'the five product categories: petroleum products...' is a sentence fragment. To improve, focus on reducing these recurring errors by proofreading your work for basic grammar rules, such as article usage and prepositional phrases. Increasing the variety of error-free complex structures will help you achieve a higher band score.
