Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to address the task but fails to provide a clear overview or a structured summary of the data. While some figures are mentioned, the interpretation is often inaccurate or confusing (e.g., claiming petroleum and engine goods both reached 60 billion, which is not supported by standard data interpretation). The response lacks a clear selection of main features and fails to make meaningful comparisons. The information is presented in a fragmented way, and the lack of a clear structure makes it difficult to follow the trends. To improve, you must focus on identifying the most significant changes and grouping the data logically rather than listing individual figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks paragraphing, which is essential for organizing information in Task 1. The flow of ideas is disjointed, and the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often misused (e.g., 'ALSO' used in the middle of a sentence). There is no clear progression of ideas; the text jumps between categories without a logical sequence. To improve, you should organize your response into an introduction, an overview paragraph, and two body paragraphs. Use transition words like 'In contrast,' 'Furthermore,' or 'Similarly' to connect your ideas more effectively and improve the overall readability of your report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic words like 'increase,' 'price,' and 'benefit' without variation. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'much good for selling engine' and 'petroleum was only who give more benefits.' These errors occasionally make the meaning unclear. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary, including synonyms and more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'surged,' 'fluctuated,' 'remained stable,' or 'accounted for.' Focus on using words that accurately describe trends and proportions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the writing. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'petroleum products get increase'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences are often faulty or lack proper punctuation. For example, 'Petroleum change slightly effect price more' is grammatically incorrect and confusing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring consistent verb tenses when describing past data, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions. Proofreading for basic errors will also help improve your score.
