Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the data, including the overall trends and specific percentage changes. However, the report lacks precision in referencing the actual values. For instance, you mention 'around 50 billion dollars' for gems and jewellery, but the table provides specific figures for all categories that should be integrated more accurately. While you identify the main trends, the comparison between categories could be more analytical. To improve, ensure that all data points are accurately transcribed and that the relationship between the 2015 values and the 2016 percentage changes is clearly explained to provide a more comprehensive summary of the provided information.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on specific data points. Cohesive devices such as 'Looking from the overall perspective', 'After analyzing', and 'Turning to the remaining data' are used to guide the reader. However, the transition between the overview and the body paragraphs is slightly mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow could be improved by using more varied linking words to connect the sentences within paragraphs, rather than relying on simple sentence-initial connectors. Overall, the information is presented in a coherent manner that is easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to describe trends such as 'massive increase' and 'fell down'. However, there are some awkward collocations and word choices. For example, 'sending of agricultural products' is not standard terminology; 'export of' or 'shipment of' would be more appropriate. Additionally, 'export rates' is used repeatedly where 'export values' or 'figures' would be more precise. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to data analysis, such as 'fluctuated', 'experienced a marginal rise', or 'witnessed a significant contraction', rather than relying on basic verbs like 'got increased'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'the export rate among all the categories got increased', which is stylistically weak and slightly ungrammatical; 'the export values for all categories increased' would be better. The phrase 'during the year 2015 and 2016' should be 'during the years 2015 and 2016'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and more formal sentence construction will help improve your accuracy and range.
