Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the data and provided a clear overview. You included both the absolute values and the percentage changes as requested. However, the response is somewhat repetitive because you describe the data twice: once in the third paragraph and again in the fourth. To improve, you should integrate the percentage change data into your analysis of the export values rather than listing them in a separate paragraph. This would allow for a more analytical approach rather than just reporting the figures sequentially. Ensure that your comparisons are more explicit to better highlight the relationships between the categories.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore', 'However', and 'Finally' to link ideas. However, the transition between the description of the values and the percentage changes is mechanical. The flow is hindered by the repetitive structure of the paragraphs, where you essentially repeat the same information in a different format. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that the progression of ideas is smoother, avoiding the need to restate the same categories in two separate sections.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the main points clearly. You use terms like 'export earnings', 'decline', and 'percentage changes' appropriately. However, there is a lack of variety in your reporting verbs and descriptors. For example, you frequently use 'rose' and 'increase'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary such as 'surged', 'fluctuated', 'experienced a marginal growth', or 'witnessed a significant downturn'. Additionally, be careful with word forms, such as using 'rose' (verb) instead of 'a rise' (noun) in phrases like 'shows minor rose'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. For instance, 'Petroleum products and engine goods shows' contains a subject-verb agreement error, and 'Petroleum product's earning' should be 'Petroleum products' earnings'. There are also issues with articles and prepositions, such as 'in 2015 to 2016' instead of 'between 2015 and 2016'. While these errors do not prevent the meaning from being understood, they occur frequently enough to limit your score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage.
