Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bar chart depicts the amount of a nation's export revenue in different kind of products namely Petroleum products, Engineered goods, Gems and jewellery, Agriculture products and Textiles in two specific years 2015 and 2016. On the other hand, the table demonstrate the percentage variation regarding each product revenue of 2016 compared with 2015.
Overall, for both the years Petroleum products were exported in significant amount whereas Textiles were exported in very compact amount. Considering percentage of product change, Textiles had a huge variation in 2016.
Analyzing the bar graph, it is noticeable that Petrol products were 60 billion dollar in 2015 which increase 2 billion dollar in the following year 2016. Similarly, in 2015 Engineered goods were at 58 billion dollar and rose to 61 billion dollar in 2016. However, Gems and jewellery were 20 billion dollar less than engineering goods for both the years. Additionally, agriculture products were almost same in 2015 and 2016 at 40 billion dollar while Textiles was at 35 billion dollar and it increased in 2016 at 42 billion dollar.
Turning to tabular graph, in 2016 Textiles products were increased highly in demand of exporting at 15.24% than in 2015.Moreover, at second place Petroleum products were trade at 8.5%. Thereafter, Gems and jwellery were 10% less than Textiles in 2016.Furthermore, agriculture products had little change in compared to 2015 with only 0.81%.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the main features of both the bar chart and the table. You successfully identified the key trends, such as the growth in petroleum and textile exports. However, the analysis is slightly inconsistent; for example, you state that petroleum products increased by 2 billion dollars, but the table indicates a percentage change of 3.03%, which contradicts your calculation. Additionally, the comparison of gems and jewellery is slightly confusingly phrased. To reach a higher band, ensure that the data points selected are accurate and that the comparisons between the two visual aids are more clearly integrated rather than treated as separate sections.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand,' 'Similarly,' and 'Turning to,' which help the flow of information. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as 'On the other hand' to introduce a table, which is not a contrasting idea to the bar chart. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the referencing within the body paragraphs could be smoother to avoid repetitive sentence structures. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and supports the logical development of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'export revenue,' 'percentage variation,' and 'significant amount.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'compact amount' (instead of 'small volume') and 'increased highly in demand' (which is awkward phrasing). There are also minor spelling errors like 'jwellery.' To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that your word choices are natural in the context of describing statistical data.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'different kind of products' (should be 'kinds'), 'Petrol products were 60 billion dollar' (should be '60 billion dollars'), and 'it increased in 2016 at 42 billion dollar.' Subject-verb agreement and pluralization issues are frequent. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Increasing the variety of error-free complex structures and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would significantly improve your score.
