Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the data, such as the highest and lowest export categories and the percentage changes. However, the report lacks precision in data reporting. For instance, you mention a 'slight increase' of $2 billion for petroleum, but the table shows the value was $67 billion in 2015 and $69.01 billion in 2016, meaning the increase is actually $2.01 billion. Furthermore, your description of the table data is somewhat repetitive, as you list the same information in the final paragraph that was already covered earlier. To improve, ensure that your data points are accurate and avoid restating the same comparisons multiple times.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. You frequently start sentences with 'In the table' or 'While', which makes the flow feel somewhat disjointed. Additionally, the logical progression between paragraphs is weak; the final paragraph repeats information about petroleum and textiles that was already mentioned in the body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph introduces new information rather than summarizing what has already been stated.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to describe trends such as 'upward trend', 'downward trend', and 'remained stable'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, you use 'highest number of export earnings' instead of 'highest value of export earnings'. You also use 'numbers' repeatedly when referring to percentages or values. To improve, try to use more precise terminology such as 'revenue', 'figures', or 'proportions' to avoid repetition and demonstrate a more sophisticated range of vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the table illustrate' instead of 'illustrates'), missing articles (e.g., 'in 5 categories' instead of 'in 5 categories'), and incorrect preposition usage. Some sentences are also fragments, such as 'In table shows, textiles had an upward trend'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to lower the score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb.
