below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The presented bar graph illustrates the value of a country's export in different categories during 2015 and 2016. The given table presents change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015 represented in percentage.

Overall, the bar graph clearly represents an enormous earnings in 2015 and 2016 on petroleum products and engineered goods. Whereas textiles export earnings are relatively low but there is a major shift is earnings compared in both the years.

Petroleum products increased in export earnings in 2016 compared with 2015 which is about 3%. Comparing the engineered goods in both periods there is 8.5% increase in export earnings. Coming to gems and jewellery there is a decrease in earnings of 5.18%.

There is no much difference in agricultural products as the change in values is only 0.81%. Meanwhile the textile industry had a significant raise of earnings compared with both the years which is 15.24%.
