Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which severely impacts the ability to fully address the task. While you have attempted to identify some main features, the response is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, meaning you have failed to report on all categories or provide a comprehensive summary of the data. To improve, you must ensure you cover all parts of the prompt, including the percentage changes mentioned in the instructions, and provide a complete analysis that reaches the required length.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response shows a basic attempt at paragraphing, with an introduction and an overview. However, because the text is unfinished, the logical progression is interrupted. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical way, such as 'Overall' and 'Regarding', but the lack of a completed body paragraph makes it difficult to assess the overall flow. To improve, ensure that each paragraph is fully developed and that ideas are linked smoothly throughout the entire report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but remains quite limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'highest figures' and 'lowest figures' are used repeatedly. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'as compare to' instead of 'compared to'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'peaked at', 'experienced a decline', or 'remained stable', and ensure accurate grammatical collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures. There are noticeable errors in subject-verb agreement, such as 'earnings... shows' (should be 'show') and 'agricultural products shows' (should be 'show'). Additionally, the sentence 'the earnings from the textiles were lowest as compare to' is grammatically incorrect. The unfinished nature of the text also limits the range of structures demonstrated. Focus on proofreading for basic agreement errors and ensuring your sentences are complete.
