Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the categories and comparing the 2015 and 2016 data. However, the reporting of data is often inaccurate or confusing. For example, the student states Petroleum products are '65 to 70 billions', but the chart shows values closer to 60-62. The description of the percentage changes is also imprecise, and the overall summary lacks a clear, professional overview of the trends. While the main features are identified, the lack of precision in data extraction and the failure to clearly contrast the growth and decline categories prevent a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organised into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical or misused, such as 'Overall all the' and 'remining products are the rises'. The transition between the introduction, the overview, and the body paragraphs is abrupt. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two years. The paragraphing is present but does not effectively support the logical progression of information.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on the words provided in the prompt. There are several errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'categorys', 'bi ions', and 'drops' used as a noun. The student struggles to use precise terminology to describe trends (e.g., 'as change value slightly rise on 15.24%'). While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in word choice limit the ability to express ideas with precision or sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('Petroleum products are... change in values as 8.5%'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures. Punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with spacing and the use of commas. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, fragmented sentences. Complex structures are attempted but are consistently faulty, such as 'In very less on all the export products as Textile as 35 to 40 billions'.
