below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bar chart depicts the earnings by export industry in six different categories from 2015 to 2016. The table illustrates the percentage of change in each category in both years.
Overall, textiles had the highest percentage change while agricultural products had the least. Other than gems and jewellery every category showed a rising trend from 2015 to 2016.
To begin with, petroleum products earn 70 billion dollars in 2015 and showed a rose of 5 billion dollar in 2016. Agricultural products did not change over the span of two years. Moreover, gems and jewellery industry reported a decline in the earnings of approximately 2 billion dollars.
Furthermore, petroleum products increased by 3% from 2015 to 2016. Both engineered goods along with textile industry climb by 8.5% and 15.24% change respectively. Gems and jewellery industry decreased by 5.18% over the span of years. Agricultural products remained almost unchanged from 2015 to 2016 showing a small change of 0.81%.
