IELTS Writing Task 1 question

below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The bar chart and the table illustrate how much money a country made from fire different types a product a exports in 2015 and 2016 as well as the percentage change for each category.

Overall the countries total export earnings increased four out of sectors showed a growth. Petroleum and engineered goods earned the highest recorded the fastest growth. In contrast gems and Jewellery was the only sector that declined.

To begin with petroleum products were the top earned using slightly from $60 billion to $63 billion respectively. while engineered goods also rose nearly $58 billion to $62 billion.

Agriculture products also showed a small increase from approximately $31 billion to 32 billion. However gems and jewellery fall slightly from around $43 billion to $41 billion during the same period.

According to the table, On the other hand the table illustrate the textiles experienced the highest growth with an increase of 15.24%.
