Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which negatively impacts the score. While you attempt to report on the main features, the data interpretation is inconsistent and often contradictory. For example, you state that gems and jewelry declined, but then claim they increased by 8%. Furthermore, the figures provided (e.g., '65$' or '40$') do not clearly align with the provided table, suggesting a misunderstanding of the data. To improve, ensure you accurately extract and compare the figures from the table and provide a clear, logical summary of the trends rather than listing conflicting statistics.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by confusing transitions and unclear referencing. Phrases like 'Conquency' (likely meant 'consequently') are used incorrectly, and the connection between sentences is often weak. The progression of ideas is difficult to follow because the data points are presented in a disjointed manner. To improve, use clear cohesive devices such as 'In contrast,' 'Furthermore,' or 'Conversely' to link your ideas, and ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus, such as grouping categories by their growth or decline trends.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors that impede clarity. You frequently use words incorrectly, such as 'experts' instead of 'exports' and 'plummet' used as a verb in a way that does not fit the context. There is also significant repetition of basic terms like 'increased' and 'decreased'. To reach a higher band, you should work on using more precise vocabulary related to data trends, such as 'fluctuated,' 'remained stable,' or 'experienced a marginal increase,' and ensure you use the correct terminology for the subject matter.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often make the meaning unclear. Issues include incorrect verb tenses ('were rose', 'were earned'), subject-verb agreement errors, and misuse of prepositions. Sentence structures are generally simple, and attempts at more complex sentences are often marred by errors, such as 'While textiles were decreased continuously in 2015 but reached rose in 2016.' To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring consistent tense usage when describing past data. Proofreading for common errors like 'were' + past participle when the active voice is required will also help.
