Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to adequately address the task requirements. While you mention the categories and identify the highest and lowest earners, you completely ignore the data provided in the table regarding the percentage change. A successful Task 1 response must synthesize the information from both the chart and the table. By omitting the percentage changes, you have failed to report on a key feature of the prompt. Furthermore, the analysis is quite superficial; you describe the categories but do not provide specific data points (figures) to support your claims, which is essential for a high score in this task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into three short paragraphs, which is a standard structure. However, the progression of ideas is limited. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Additionally' and 'Furthermore,' but the flow between sentences feels somewhat mechanical. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where you mention 'no major changes' without referencing the specific data from the table to support this observation. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus and that you use a wider variety of linking words to connect your observations more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is somewhat repetitive and limited. You frequently use the word 'products' and 'earning' throughout the text. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'provides highest profit via export' and 'Textiles products were providing the least export earning.' These phrases are not natural in an academic context. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'revenue,' 'fluctuated,' 'experienced a decline,' or 'remained stable,' and avoid repeating the same nouns and verbs in every sentence.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are several grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. For example, 'there are variety of products are available' is grammatically incorrect; it should be 'there is a variety of products available.' You also have issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'Petroleum products provides' (should be 'provide') and 'Textiles items provide least profit amoung' (should be 'among'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with very few attempts at complex sentences. You need to focus on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for basic errors to improve your accuracy.
