Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given bar graph illustrates the information about the export earning of a country while the table provides the data about the change in the percentage of values related to category of exports during 2015 and 2016.
Overall, it is observed from the graph that the wages in exports increased in all the given areas except gems and jewellery as well as similar trend is seen in the case of change in the ratio of values in the table.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features of both the bar graph and the table. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For example, the student mentions that textiles showed a 'maximum surged' but fails to provide the specific numerical data from the table to support this claim. Similarly, the description of the bar graph lacks specific figures, relying on vague terms like 'certain billion dollars' and 'slightly spike'. To reach a higher band, you must integrate the actual data points (e.g., specific values or percentages) to illustrate the trends described, rather than just stating that an increase or decrease occurred.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. The use of cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'It is evident from', and 'Furthermore' helps guide the reader through the information. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'as well as similar trend is seen in the case of'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for instance, the phrase 'wages in exports' is an inaccurate description of the data provided in the prompt. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that pronouns or references clearly point to the correct data categories would enhance the coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, but there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations. Phrases like 'wages in exports' (instead of 'export earnings'), 'slightly spike' (instead of 'a slight increase'), and 'maximum surged' (instead of 'the largest increase') indicate a limited control over academic register. While the meaning remains clear, the vocabulary lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more accurate terminology for describing trends and data, such as 'growth', 'decline', 'fluctuation', and 'significant rise'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that, while not impeding communication, are noticeable. Examples include 'the information about the export earning' (should be plural), 'there was the hike' (article usage), and 'petroleum products and engineered products values was increased' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly in the second paragraph where a run-on sentence structure is used. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles when discussing statistical data.
