Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have successfully identified the main features of the data and provided a clear overview. You included specific data points for both years and calculated the percentage changes as requested. However, there are some inaccuracies in your reporting; for example, you stated that agricultural products remained the same at 40 billion, but the table shows a change of 1%, and you mentioned that fuel increased by 3%, whereas the table indicates a 3% increase for petroleum products. To improve, ensure that your data extraction is precise and that you double-check the figures against the source material to avoid misrepresenting the information.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In 2015', 'In year 2016', and 'In contrast', which help the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For instance, the transition 'Decline saw in jewellery itemsin 2016' is grammatically disjointed. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence connects smoothly to the previous one to improve the overall readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'revenue', 'generated', and 'sectors'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and spelling errors, such as 'catogeries', 'engeering', and 'petroluem'. Additionally, the phrase 'Second bigger growth is done by' is unnatural. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure you proofread your work to correct spelling mistakes. Expanding your range of collocations—for example, using 'experienced a decline' instead of 'decline saw'—would significantly enhance your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include missing articles ('in 2015, least earning'), incorrect verb forms ('Agricultural products earning remain same'), and awkward sentence construction ('Only gems items exports drop steadily'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the clarity of your writing. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
