Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the data, such as the growth in textile and engineered goods and the decline in gems and jewellery. However, the presentation is somewhat disjointed. The overview is missing, which is a critical requirement for a Band 6 or higher. The data is presented in a list-like fashion rather than as a cohesive summary. Furthermore, there are inaccuracies in the data reporting, such as stating that gems and jewellery income was 50 billion in 2015 when the prompt implies a comparison between 2015 and 2016. The response lacks a clear analytical focus, failing to group the information logically to highlight trends.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response lacks paragraphing, which makes it difficult to follow. While there are some attempts at linking words like 'finally' and 'the other product', the overall structure is mechanical and repetitive. The progression of ideas is not logical; the text reads more like a series of isolated sentences about each category rather than a unified report. Referencing is often unclear, and the lack of an introduction or a concluding overview significantly impacts the flow of information. To improve, you should group related data points together and use a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect your sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'income from these products is increases' and 'which is not a good sign' are informal and lack the precision required for an academic report. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'export goods' instead of 'exported goods' or 'export categories'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate flexibility; you rely heavily on basic terms like 'increase', 'decrease', and 'products'. To achieve a higher score, you should incorporate more varied terminology related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'experienced a marginal rise', or 'witnessed a significant decline'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'these goods also increases') and tense usage (e.g., 'these products sales decreases'). Sentence structures are largely simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing capital letters at the start of sentences and inconsistent use of full stops. The frequent errors in basic grammar and the lack of complex structures limit the score. Focusing on sentence construction and ensuring consistent verb tenses will help improve your accuracy.
