Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features and provided a clear overview. You accurately selected key data points, such as the growth in textiles and the decline in gems and jewellery. However, the report could be improved by ensuring the data is presented more precisely. For instance, stating that petroleum products were 'about 60 billion' is slightly vague when the graph provides specific values. Additionally, ensure that the comparison between the two years is consistently clear. Overall, you have covered all parts of the task well, providing a logical summary of the provided information.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'However', and 'while' to link ideas effectively. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different categories of exports. The progression of ideas is clear, moving from a general overview to specific details. To reach a higher band, ensure that the transition between sentences is even smoother and avoid slightly repetitive phrasing, such as 'in both the data years', which appears multiple times.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. Phrases like 'prime exported commodity', 'dominant export commodity', and 'sharp incline' are used effectively. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'calibrating the data in percentile' (which should be 'percentages') and 'timer period' (which is redundant). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the precision could be improved to better reflect the technical nature of the data. Overall, the vocabulary is adequate for the task and does not impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While many sentences are clear, there are some grammatical slips, such as 'as it fallen down' (should be 'as it fell') and 'followed by its competitor that are the engineered goods' (should be 'which are'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are slightly long and could benefit from better clause management. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the response, and the errors do not significantly impede the reader's understanding of the data.
