Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response attempts to address the task by describing the export data, but it fails to provide a clear overview or accurately report the main features. The interpretation of the data is significantly flawed; for instance, the student confuses percentages with currency values (e.g., '60 percentage of $ bi ions'), which misrepresents the provided table. While the student identifies the categories and mentions the percentage changes, the lack of clarity and the inclusion of inaccurate data points mean the response does not fully address the requirements of the task. The summary is disjointed and lacks a coherent focus on the key trends.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is repetitive and often misused, such as the frequent and unnatural use of 'Therefore' at the start of sentences where it does not logically follow. Referencing is also unclear; for example, 'These all thing are in diagram' is vague and does not effectively link to the preceding list. The overall structure feels mechanical, and the lack of clear transitions between the description of the values and the percentage changes makes the text difficult to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is very limited and often inaccurate. The student uses non-standard phrases like '$ bi ions' and 'does take things', which impede clarity. There is a lack of variety in reporting verbs and descriptive language; the student relies on basic terms like 'increase' and 'decrease' without demonstrating an ability to use more precise academic vocabulary (e.g., 'fluctuated', 'experienced a decline', 'accounted for'). The misuse of terminology regarding the data categories further highlights a need for more precise and context-appropriate language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often obscure meaning. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('people who does take'), article usage ('At this diagram chart'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'Moreover there are agricultural products it has a increase'). The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, poorly constructed sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, and the misuse of prepositions and word forms makes the writing difficult to read. The high frequency of errors indicates a lack of control over basic grammatical rules.
