Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given bar chart illustrates a visual and recognizable distinction between the export of various kind of products including petrochemical, engineered, gems and ornaments, agricultural and textile during the timeframe of an year; [redacted phone]. However, we can also observe the earning in billion dollars as well, which demonstrates the amount of profit the country has earned throughout the time period.
Firstly, petroleum products have highest ratio in 2016 followed by the engineered goods and jewellery while agriculture and textile export remains equal to each other. However, when we look into 2015, it is clearly mentioned that products with prevalent percentage margin were both petroleum and engineered goods. Consequently, gems and jewellery belongs to the third prominent category followed by agricultural items and the least one was the textile group.
Summarizing up the results, I may conclude that in 2016 the export margin for petroleum increased as of 3%, compared to the previous year. Also, the ratio of engineered goods increased 8.5 % in 2016 as compared to the previous year while gems and ornaments export percentage decreased 5.18% in the next year to 2015. The margin for agricultural group however remained same with an increased ratio of only 0.81%, representing no distinct variation. But ofcousre, there is a significant improvement in the export of textiles in 2016 rather than in 2015 with an increment of 15.24%.
Conclusively, textile industry has shown the greater improvement over the time followed by the engineered goods. Whereas, petroleum and agricultural extent remains approximately constant with a slightest increase. As far as gems are concerned, they have shown a massive decline in the following year.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the data, including the values for 2015 and 2016 and the percentage changes. However, the report lacks precision in data presentation. For instance, the student mentions that petroleum and engineered goods were the 'prevalent' categories in 2015, but fails to provide the specific figures from the table to support this. Furthermore, the description of the percentage changes is somewhat confusingly phrased, such as 'increased as of 3%'. To reach a higher band, you must ensure that all key data points are clearly cited and that the comparison between the two years is structured more logically to highlight the most significant trends rather than listing every category sequentially.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding summary. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'However', and 'Conclusively', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are used awkwardly, such as 'Summarizing up the results, I may conclude', which is redundant. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly when discussing the percentage changes. The flow between sentences is generally functional, but the progression of ideas could be smoother if the data were grouped by trend (e.g., categories that increased vs. those that decreased) rather than just listing them category by category.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of imprecise word choice and unnatural collocations. Phrases like 'visual and recognizable distinction' and 'prevalent percentage margin' are not standard in this context. The student also uses 'ratio' when 'percentage' or 'value' would be more accurate. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary (e.g., 'petrochemical', 'engineered goods'), the overall range is limited. Spelling errors such as 'ofcousre' and 'slightest' (used incorrectly as a noun) also detract from the professional tone required for an Academic Task 1 report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('petroleum products have highest ratio'), incorrect preposition usage ('increased as of 3%'), and awkward phrasing ('remains equal to each other'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of semicolons and commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band. More attention to basic sentence construction and the correct use of comparative structures is needed.
