Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the task by summarizing the provided data, but it fails to accurately report the main features. There are significant factual errors, such as stating that Petroleum products increased to 67 billion when the data shows a different trend, and the comparison between 2015 and 2016 is often confused. The overview is unclear and lacks a coherent summary of the trends. While the response covers the categories, the information is presented in a way that is often contradictory or inaccurate, making it difficult for the reader to grasp the actual data trends. More careful selection and verification of the figures are required to meet the requirements for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as the frequent and incorrect use of 'While' and 'But' at the start of sentences. The transition between the overview and the body paragraphs is disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall structure lacks a smooth flow. To improve, focus on using linking words that accurately reflect the relationship between ideas, such as 'whereas' for contrast or 'consequently' for results, and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'increase', 'decrease', and 'products'. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'propagation' instead of 'proportion' and 'Texlite' instead of 'Textiles'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the data with precision. To achieve a higher score, you should incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to data reporting, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'witnessed a growth of', or 'accounted for'. Additionally, ensure that you use the correct terminology for the categories provided in the prompt.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Petroleum products are increase'), incorrect tense usage, and missing articles. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences are often faulty or punctuated incorrectly. For example, the phrase 'At contrast, change in values percentage are in Textiles as increase in 15.24%' is grammatically incoherent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb forms, and practicing the use of articles and prepositions. Proofreading for basic punctuation and capitalization errors would also significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
