Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully identified the main features and provided a clear overview. You included data from both the bar chart and the table, which is essential for a high score. However, there are some inaccuracies in your data interpretation. For example, you state that textiles 'remained the least product' while also noting they had the highest growth, which is contradictory. Furthermore, your description of the percentage changes in the final paragraph contains errors; you mention that textiles 'dropped to 5.18%', which contradicts the table data showing a positive growth of 15.24%. Ensuring data accuracy is critical for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized into four paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'Although', 'While', and 'As per the data table' to link ideas. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally hindered by confusing statements, such as the contradictory claims regarding textile performance. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between the description of the bar chart and the table could be smoother. Using a wider variety of cohesive devices would help to improve the overall flow and logical progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'illustrates', 'exhibited', 'substantial increase', and 'dramatically'. There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'earning from various categories' (should be 'earnings') and 'remained the least product' (should be 'remained the smallest category'). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, some inaccuracies persist. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your word choices are contextually appropriate for describing statistical data.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'Although textiles exhibited the substantial increase, it remained the least product'. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('export of petroleum products showed' vs 'earnings from... was') and awkward phrasing like 'it grew around 1% in 2016 than of 2015'. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are instances where sentence structure could be more refined to improve clarity. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will help you achieve a higher band score in this criterion.
