Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the data, including the values for 2015/2016 and the percentage changes. However, there are significant factual errors regarding the years mentioned (e.g., citing 2025 and 2026 instead of 2015 and 2016), which misrepresents the data provided in the prompt. While the overview identifies key trends, the inclusion of incorrect dates and some inaccuracies in data reporting (e.g., stating revenue for agriculture and textiles was the same in 2026) limits the clarity and accuracy of the summary. To improve, ensure that all data points are transcribed correctly from the source material.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. Cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'However', 'To begin with', and 'Furthermore' are used to link ideas. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally hindered by the factual errors mentioned above. The referencing is generally clear, though the transition between the data points could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate for a Task 1 response, providing a clear structure that helps the reader follow the information presented.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with terms like 'generated', 'subsequent', 'downfall', and 'drastic incline'. There are some spelling errors, such as 'petrolium' instead of 'petroleum' and 'shawed' instead of 'showed'. Additionally, there are word choice issues, such as 'ratio' when referring to revenue values and 'correspondently' instead of 'respectively'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points, the errors in spelling and collocation prevent a higher score. Focusing on accurate terminology for data description will improve the precision of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('revenue made from the exports... was same') and incorrect preposition usage. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are instances where sentence structure is slightly awkward, such as 'in 2015 money obtained from agriculture was 40 billion dollars which later rose by 0.81%'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the text. Increasing the variety of error-free complex sentences is recommended.
