Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the task by summarizing the provided data. However, it fails to clearly distinguish between the two distinct datasets provided: the export values for 2015/2016 and the percentage change. The description of the data is often inaccurate, such as stating petroleum products were 65 billion in 2015 when the chart shows a different figure, and the summary of percentage changes is confusing and lacks clarity. While the main features are identified, the lack of precision in reporting the figures and the failure to provide a clear, analytical overview of the trends significantly limits the response. To improve, ensure data is transcribed accurately and grouped logically.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into three short paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. The introduction is repetitive and contains awkward phrasing ('as well on other hand'). The transition between the 2015 data and the 2016 data is abrupt, and the use of cohesive devices is minimal and often mechanical. For instance, the phrase 'By 2016, the product category soar' does not effectively link the ideas. The paragraphing is present but does not effectively separate the overview from the detailed data analysis. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with frequent errors in word choice and spelling. Examples include 'petrolum', 'Engienerring', 'bollars', and 'percentavge'. The student relies on basic descriptors like 'number of' or 'base of', which are not appropriate for describing statistical data. There is little evidence of a range of vocabulary suitable for an academic report. To reach a higher band, the student needs to focus on accurate spelling and using more precise terminology related to data analysis, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a significant increase'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('product category soar'), incorrect verb tenses, and awkward sentence structures ('textiles are below than 40 billions bollars'). The use of articles and prepositions is inconsistent throughout the text. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. The student should focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring correct subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
