Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the prompt by discussing the export categories and figures shown in the table. However, the data reported contains significant inaccuracies and misinterpretations of the percentages provided (for example, citing 60% and 50% which do not correspond correctly to the table values). The overview attempts to summarise general trends, but it is vague and confused, referring to 'negatively consumed products'. While the student lists the main categories and attempts to make comparisons, the lack of accurate data reporting and the muddled development of ideas place this part of the response at a Band 4.5 level, rounded to 5.0 for partially addressing the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The text is organised into distinct paragraphs, including an introduction and an overview. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by broken sentences and confusing referencing. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as 'rather than others items' and 'compared with petroleum products' standing alone as sentence fragments. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is weak, resulting in a disjointed flow that hinders readability and causes the overall arrangement to feel mechanical and unclear.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with frequent inappropriate word choices and spelling errors (e.g., 'petrolum', 'Enginering', 'comsumed'). Phrases such as 'highest comsumed products export earning' and 'negatively consumed products' demonstrate a lack of control over standard economic and general vocabulary collocations. The range is limited and frequently strains the reader's understanding, reflecting Band 4 performance where basic vocabulary and frequent errors impede clear communication of the statistical data.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences that are frequently ungrammatical. There are persistent errors in subject-verb agreement, tense usage, and sentence boundaries (e.g., 'The petrolum products was peak utilized 60% in 2015 and same in 2016 rather than others items'). Fragments such as 'In 2015. the gems and jewellery products export earning was very lowest was 50% and 2016, 45%.' demonstrate a severe lack of control over basic punctuation and clause construction. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader.
