below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bar chart illustrates the exports earnings of petroleum, engineering, gems and jewellery, textiles and agricultural products from 2015 to 2016, while the table depicts the change in percentage values of each category.
Overall, the petroleum products recorded the highest percentage followed by engineering goods.The graph shows there is an increase of exports earnings in all categories except gems and jewellery which faced a slight decline in a time period of one year.
The chart shows that the petroleum items valued the highest number in both years nearly equal to 65 billion dollars in 2015 with a slight increase to 68 billion dollars in 2016, followed by engineering products nearly equal to them. The other goods including agricultural and textiles also improved the economy;however, gems and jewellery experienced a slight decrease.
The table explains that the highest increase in the percentage value of goods was in textiles approximately of 15.24% follow by engineering goods at 8.5% in 2016 . However, the petroleuma and agricultural products recorded an increase of 3% and 0.81% respectively. Whereas gems and jewellery saw a decline of 5.18%.
