Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The student attempts to address the task by summarizing data from the chart and table, but the response contains significant inaccuracies in reading the data. For instance, petroleum productions in 2015 are stated as approximately 65 billion (actual is 61), and gems and jewellery are reported as dropping from 55 to 50 billion (actual is 43 down to 41). Furthermore, the final paragraph misinterprets the table's percentage change figures, confusing them with total earnings ranks (claiming textiles earned the highest trade by leading 15.24 proportion). While an overview is provided, the numerous data misinterpretations and lack of clear comparative synthesis restrict the score to Band 4.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently disrupted by inaccurate data reporting and confusing transitions. Cohesive devices such as 'in general overview', 'In 2015', and 'moving ahead' are used, but they often link contradictory or misunderstood information. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final body paragraph mixes up table percentages and absolute earnings values, creating confusion for the reader. The overall progression lacks clarity due to these organizational and interpretive faults.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent lexical and collocational inaccuracies. Examples include 'amount of one nations trade', 'earing', 'enginers got profit', and 'decilne'. The student attempts some less common terms like 'proportion', 'alteration', and 'surged', but uses them incorrectly (e.g., 'surged difference seen' and '3 proportion'). Spelling errors ('enginers', 'dollor', 'futhermore', 'decilne', 'sectore', 'earing') are noticeable and occasionally cause strain for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple or awkwardly concatenated sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as missing capitalization ('the table chart illustrates...'), missing articles ('petroleum and engineered goods have highest export earing'), and faulty subject-verb agreement or tense usage ('gems and jewellery to decline', 'it was cleared that'). Punctuation is also weak, with run-on clauses joined improperly. These errors frequently impede communication.
