below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bar graph displays the export earnings of a country from various categories during 2015 and 2016, while the table illustrates their percentage change in values.
Overall, export earnings on gems and jewellery is the only category whose value decreased between those two years while other four categories values increased by some percentage.
During 2015 and 2016, exports of the petroleum products have risen by 3% which increased the exports earning from approximately 60 billion dollars to 65 billion dollars. Similarly, exports of the textiles have increased by 15.24% attaining 32 billion dollars in 2016 from 26 billion dollars in revenue in 2015 as compared to the engineered goods whose values rose by 8.5% during 2015 and 2016, earning roughly 64 billion dollars from 57 billion dollars.
Regarding the exports of the agricultural products, it has increased maginally by 0.81%, earning approximately 34 billion dollars in 2016 as compared to 32 billion dollars in 2016. In contrast, export earnings of gems and jewellery has declined by 5.18% from roughly 43 billion dollars to 41 billion dollars during the same time.
