below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar chart and table compares the share and changes in proportion of exports of five types in a country between 2015 and 2016.
Overall, it is evident that all products experienced a significant and gradual rise except gems and jewellery. Furthermore petroleum is highly yielding product whereas textiles and agricultural were the least.
Petroleum products were at 70 $billion in 2015 and witnessed a slight increased above 70 in 2016 and were the most popular among all five. Although, engineered goods depicted a larger change it is still a bit lower than petroleum it was below 70 in 2015 and in 2016 it reached its peak at 70 $billion.
Textiles on the other hand presented a notable change from below 40 to above 40 $billion in given period of time .Agriculture products represented a negligible change and was around 40 $billion in both years. In contrast, gem and jewellery steadily decrease in 2016 from above 50 to approximately 50 $billion.
