Overall, total export values increased in four out of the five categories, with textiles experiencing the most significant proportional growth. Petroleum products and engineered goods dominated overall export earnings in both years, whereas gems and jewellery was the sole sector to witness a decline.
In terms of the top revenue generators, petroleum products led export earnings in both years, rising slightly by 3% from just over $60 billion in 2015 to roughly $62 billion in 2016.
