below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The bar graph illustrates export of five commodities - petroleum products, engineered goods, gems and jewellery, agricultural products and textile - in the year 2015 and 2016. Furthermore, the table showcase difference of export in percentage.
Overall, most products' exports have elevated in 2016, in comparison to 2015. The only exception was gems and jewellery, which experienced a sharp decline.
Petroleum products and engineered goods are in largest portion of exports with $60 billion and $57 billion in 2015 and $65 billion and $62 billion in 2016, respectively. Eventhough despite being in smaller portions, agricultural products and textile have shown growth of 0.81% and 15.24%.
In 2015, the exports of gems and jewellery was $42 billion that plumted by 5.18% in year 2016. Textile sector is most grown sector with 15.24% growth. Runner up is engineered goods with 8.5 and petroleum products with 3% growth. Agriculture products have shown least growth with only 0.81%.
