Student answer (Band 4.0)
The exports of country inthe year 2015 was not good enough in petroleum field, agricultural field and textiles industries but during the year 2016 a lot of improvement is made by the country in these fields which made too much for tge country moreover the a small increase in exports of country made too much for country. but here there is a lot of progress in textiles field about 15% which a good number. on the other hand with progress in these fields country also lost his exports in the other fields so we can't say that the increase in exports of few fields of country will cause a large progress because the level of progress is in equal ratio because the country has made progress in 3 fields on other hand it also lost the exports in other 3 fields. The export authority should work on the export quality on of the low progressing fields to in

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
The response fails to appropriately summarise the visual data provided. Instead of reporting the main features, categories, and figures (such as the export values in billions for 2015 and 2016 or the percentage changes), the student provides vague generalisations and inappropriate subjective commentary, such as 'the exports ... was not good enough' and 'The export authority should work on the export quality'. Furthermore, the student misinterprets the data by claiming that the country 'lost its exports in the other fields', whereas the chart actually shows an increase in most categories (petroleum, engineered goods, agricultural products, textiles) and a decrease in only one category (gems and jewellery). Because the core requirements of Task 1 (accurate reporting of key data and trends) are largely missed, the task achievement score is low.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The text suffers from severe structural and organisational deficiencies. It consists of a single massive, run-on block of text without proper paragraphing. Ideas are not logically sequenced or supported by clear cohesive devices; instead, clauses are strung together with repetitive conjunctions and basic punctuation errors. There are numerous fragments and unfinished thoughts, such as ending abruptly with 'to in'. Progression is absent, making it very difficult for the reader to follow the train of thought.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is extremely basic, repetitive, and restricted. Phrases like 'a lot of improvement', 'made too much for the country', and 'progress in textiles field' demonstrate a lack of precision and an inability to discuss economic data using appropriate terminology (e.g., revenue, earnings, rose, declined). Word choices are frequently awkward or unnatural, and there are several spelling slips, such as 'inthe' and 'tge'. The range is inadequate for an Academic Task 1 response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
Grammatical control is weak throughout the response. The text is characterised by run-on sentences, missing subjects, incorrect verb forms, and subject-verb agreement errors, such as 'The exports of country inthe year 2015 was'. Complex sentence structures are attempted clumsily, resulting in frequent structural breakdowns that obscure the intended meaning. Punctuation is largely neglected, with comma splices and missing terminal punctuation leading to an unfinished final sentence.
