Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response makes a minimal attempt to address the prompt, but it fails to provide a coherent overview or accurately report the main features from the visual data. The student includes some fragmented data points, such as mentioning specific percentages like '5.18%' and '15.24%', but these are presented in a disjointed manner without proper contextualisation. Furthermore, several key statements are factually incorrect or contradict the actual chart, such as claiming that petroleum products were low in 2015 and highest in 2016 when the values and trends are described differently. The inclusion of unedited prompt instructions ('Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main featuresand make comparison where revelant') further demonstrates a minimal response to the task requirements, restricting the score to this level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

The organization of information is highly problematic, resulting in a text that lacks a clear overall progression. Ideas are not arranged coherently, and sentences are strung together without logical sequencing or effective transitions. While the student attempts a brief introductory remark and mentions some categories sequentially, the lack of paragraphing and the repetition of basic phrases disrupt the flow. Cohesive devices are either entirely missing or misused, with the abrupt insertion of copied prompt text breaking any sense of cohesion. Referencing between sentences is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the intended comparisons across the categories.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple words like 'low', 'high', and 'products'. There are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as 'bat chat' instead of bar chart, 'earning' instead of earnings, 'jewellary', 'taxtiles', and 'agricultures'. These lexical errors and limitations strain the reader's understanding and reflect a restricted control over word forms and spelling. While the student attempts to include some less common or specific figures from the chart, the surrounding vocabulary remains elementary and inaccurate, preventing the response from achieving a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting predominantly of simple sentence structures with frequent errors. There are persistent mistakes in basic verb forms and subject-verb agreement, such as 'The petroleum produtcs in 2015 is low' and 'The gems and jewellary is high'. Punctuation is largely neglected, with missing full stops, run-on sentences, and erratic capitalisation throughout the response. Attempts at more complex structures are virtually absent, and the frequency of grammatical inaccuracies causes significant difficulty for the reader and distorts the meaning in several places.
