Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response responds to the task only minimally, failing to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words by a significant margin as it is only 75 words long. The writing touches upon some figures from the chart, such as the 3% increase for petroleum products, the 15.24% growth for textiles, and the 8.5% for engineered goods, but it offers a very limited selection of information and lacks an overall summary or comprehensive overview. Because the response is underdeveloped and incomplete, it sits at a lower band.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The text lacks clear overall progression and organization. It is written as a single, extremely long, run-on sentence joined by multiple coordinating conjunctions such as 'and you can also see' and 'and then their is'. There is no paragraphing, and cohesive devices are repetitive and conversational rather than academic. While the sequence of information loosely follows the order of the chart, the complete absence of proper punctuation and structural markers means that information and ideas are not arranged coherently enough to guide the reader smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on informal conversational filler phrases like 'So, as you can see' and 'you can also see'. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary such as 'increment', 'dramatically increased', 'decrement', and 'elevation', but these are sometimes used with awkward collocations or minor inaccuracies, such as writing 'their is' instead of 'there is', which reflects spelling and word-choice issues. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for conveying basic points about the data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting almost entirely of one massive run-on sentence containing multiple clauses strung together. There is a lack of control over basic punctuation, with missing commas and periods throughout the text. Additionally, there are noticeable grammatical errors, such as the spelling mistake 'their is' instead of 'there is', and awkward syntactic structures. Complex sentence forms are attempted through coordination, but they are faulty due to the absence of proper boundaries between sentences, leading to frequent errors that cause difficulty for the reader.
