Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word length requirement of 150 words, stopping abruptly at just 108 words. While it attempts to summarise the main features of the visual data—such as noting petroleum products had high export earnings and textiles experienced a percentage increase—the information provided is limited, incomplete, and inadequately developed. Key details like specific figures are largely omitted, and the attempt to report data contains inaccuracies, such as incorrectly stating that textiles were the lowest export in earnings when the data shows agricultural products or textiles lower depending on the category. The overview is overly simplistic and disjointed, reflecting a partial and minimal response to the task prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response demonstrates some overall organisation by attempting an introduction and body paragraphs, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and inaccurately, such as repetitive transitions like 'as compare to' and 'Moreover'. Paragraphing is poorly controlled, with the second body paragraph breaking off mid-sentence and failing to develop a coherent set of comparisons. Referencing and logical sequencing are weak, making the flow difficult to follow and resulting in a disjointed structure throughout the short text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, reflecting a basic range that is only minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable errors in word choice and form, such as 'expoerts' for exports, 'jewellary' for jewellery, and awkward phrasing like 'gain more earn from export' and 'less exports of earnin'. These lexical errors and awkward collocations cause some difficulty for the reader and reveal an inability to handle less common vocabulary accurately, keeping the lexical score at a lower band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple and attempted complex sentence structures that are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in basic sentence construction, verb forms, and prepositions, such as 'were more expoerts than', 'the petroleum products were gain more earn', and 'the percentage of textiles were increased as compare to'. Punctuation and article usage are also weak, with missing commas and incorrect determiners. These frequent grammatical errors cause strain and confusion for the reader.
