Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response responds to the task only minimally and fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, stopping at just 103 words. While the student attempts to highlight some details from the visual data, such as petroleum products and jewelry, the information provided is very limited, partially inaccurate, and lacks a fully developed overview. Key features across the five categories are not systematically reported or compared, leading to a fragmented summary that only touches upon the prompt tangentially.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

Information and ideas are not arranged coherently. The response attempts some basic paragraphing, but the overall structure lacks a clear logical progression. Cohesive devices are very basic and repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'overall' and 'and', or entirely missing between sentences. The referencing of data and categories is unclear, causing the reader to struggle to follow which trends correspond to which specific years or products.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Vocabulary use is basic and repetitive, with numerous spelling and word-form errors that strain the reader, such as 'eraning', 'eng goods', 'petrolium', and 'slightly' used instead of 'slight'. The range is limited to very simple terms like 'earning', 'products', and 'years', showing little ability to use less common lexical items or precise terminology suitable for an academic task report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response shows a very limited range of sentence structures, consisting mostly of simple and frequently faulty constructions. There are persistent errors in articles, verb forms, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'the bar chart shows, overall, the eraning...', 'dark grey colour represent...', and 'its rise to 65 billions'. Punctuation and capitalization are also erratic throughout the text, which detracts from readability.
