Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the charts, attempting to report both the export earnings and percentage changes. However, there are notable mechanical errors in reading the data from the visual source, such as stating that petroleum products grew to '65 billion' and mentioning a year '2025' instead of 2015. While an overview is provided, some of the data details are inaccurate or generalised in a way that reflects partial understanding of the input. Ideas are presented but remain somewhat under-developed due to these data inaccuracies, placing the response at a level where the task is only partially addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement and follows a logical structure, moving from an introduction to an overview, body paragraphs on earnings, and finally the percentage changes. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different parts of the visual data. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes mechanical or faulty, such as the abrupt transitions between sentences and repetitive phrasing. While the organization allows the reader to follow the general progression of information, cohesive devices are occasionally inadequate or imprecise, keeping the response at a solid mid-level for this criterion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate to communicate basic ideas about the data, including terms like 'export earnings', 'percentage value', and 'upward trend'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'propotion', 'comapred', 'patroleum', 'incerace', 'considerbily', 'jewellry', 'increaced', 'agricuture', and 'contarst'. These lexical inaccuracies and occasional spelling slips restrict the range of vocabulary and cause some minor difficulty for the reader, fitting the criteria for a limited but minimally adequate lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'The chart represents the exports earning of a single country in two years while the table gives information...' However, there is a limited range of reliable structures, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors. Frequent errors include missing articles ('exports earning'), incorrect prepositions ('earning by patroleum products'), and tense confusion ('while comapred with 2025'). These grammatical errors persist throughout the text and require some effort from the reader to decode, though they rarely obscure the overall meaning completely.
