Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the main categories and include several relevant comparisons, such as petroleum products being the highest and textiles showing the largest percentage rise. However, the overview is brief, and the report does not accurately represent several key figures: gems and jewellery was about $43 billion in 2015, not $55 billion; agricultural products were about $31 billion, not $40 billion; and textiles reached about $31 billion in 2016, not $40 billion. The claim that petroleum was about 3% higher than engineered goods also confuses the percentage change with the comparison between categories. The response is 116 words, below the required 150, which limits coverage. Add a fuller overview and report the chart values and directions of change accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph describing the categories. This gives the reader some sense of how the information is organised. However, progression within the details is difficult to follow: the sentence “In 2015, 2% less than forward year” is unclear, and the report moves between years and percentage changes without consistently explaining the relationship. Linking phrases such as “Moving forward” do not clearly signal a comparison or sequence. Grouping the categories by increases and decreases, and using clear year-by-year comparisons, would make the organisation more logical. The overview could also be separated and developed so the main trends are easier to identify.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “exports,” “categories,” “percentage change,” and “higher,” so the reader can recognise the subject and intended comparisons. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or awkward, including “percentile change” and “2% less than forward year.” Phrases such as “Moving forward” and “early year” are not natural ways to describe data from two years. There are also spelling and form issues, such as “comparedwith2015” and “billions” where the unit should be expressed consistently. Use precise chart language such as “export earnings,” “rose by,” “fell to,” and “compared with the previous year,” checking that each phrase matches the data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and a contrast structure, as in “While, the tabular chart illustrates…,” but the range remains limited and errors recur. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent: “petroleum products was” and “textiles was” should use plural agreement, or be recast with “the figure for.” Several sentences are incomplete, including “In 2015, 2% less than forward year” and “Agricultural products 40 billions was in 2015.” Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention; for example, “The bar graph shows the information about one nation exports” needs a possessive form and a more natural construction. Practise complete comparison sentences with accurate past-tense verbs, articles, and punctuation so the figures are easier to understand.
