Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the two-year comparison and mention all five export categories, including the percentage changes, so the response is relevant to the task. However, the overview is unclear: “the export earning petroleum products and engine good” does not state the main pattern accurately, and the claim that petroleum and engineered goods have the highest earnings is not clearly expressed. Several chart details are misreported or vague. For example, engineered goods were about $57 billion in 2015 and $62 billion in 2016, not “almost 70,” while agricultural exports were approximately $31 billion in both years rather than increasing. The textiles and gems trends are broadly recognised, but the figures and comparisons need to be reported more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure, with an introduction, an attempted overview, a paragraph describing the chart, and a final paragraph on percentage changes. This gives the reader some sense of the task’s two components. However, progression is weak because the overview does not clearly summarise the main features, and the body repeats category-by-category statements without a consistent comparison. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “It is quite evident,” and “Furthermore” are used, but some connections are unclear or mechanical. Repeated sentence openings with “It” and “It's” also make the description difficult to follow. Grouping the largest earners together and then comparing the remaining categories would create a clearer sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage change,” “export,” “bar chart,” and category names, which helps convey the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “types exports value,” “engine good,” “mirror decrease,” and “low profilt”; these are not natural or precise descriptions of the data. There are also spelling errors such as “illustation,” “bollions,” and “jewwllery.” Aim to use accurate collocations for trends and values, such as “export earnings,” “rose,” “remained stable,” and “fell,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would make the comparisons easier to interpret.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors frequently make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “The ratio change in each type of exports in 2016 compares with 2015” has problems with article use, number, and verb form. In “It petroleum products most amount is high,” the sentence structure does not clearly identify the subject or comparison. Agreement and tense are also unreliable, as in “agricultural products export are low” and “petroleum products are increase.” Most sentences follow similar basic patterns, with few controlled complex structures. Practise forming clear comparative sentences with accurate past-tense verbs, articles, and subject–verb agreement.
