Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the chart and table and give an overview that petroleum products were the leading export category while textiles were among the lowest, which addresses the main purpose of the task. However, several figures and trends are misreported: petroleum exports were about $61 billion in 2015, not $70 billion; gems and jewellery were about $43 billion, not $51 billion; and agricultural products changed by 0.81%, not 0.18%. Textiles rose from about $26 billion to $31 billion, rather than starting at $35 billion. The overview also says engineered goods had the largest increase, but the table shows textiles had the highest percentage rise. More accurate selection and reporting of key comparisons would make the summary more complete and reliable.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph of figures, and a concluding sentence. This helps the reader follow the general topic. However, progression is weakened by repeating the overview in the conclusion and by moving between categories without a clear organising principle. For example, the detailed paragraph lists petroleum, engineered goods, gems, agriculture and textiles, but does not consistently compare the two years or group increases and decreases. Some linking is also awkward, such as “then” being used repeatedly to connect figures. Organise the details into clear comparisons—perhaps rising categories first and the decline separately—and use referencing and transitions more precisely.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “exports,” “percentage change,” “increased,” and “declined,” so the reader can understand the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings reduce clarity and precision. Phrases such as “ranged upto 60 billion,” “were the least value,” and “the little increased value” are not natural ways to describe chart data. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “contry,” “increse,” “droppes,” and “jewelley.” Aim for accurate collocations such as “stood at,” “recorded the lowest figure,” and “rose by,” and check spelling carefully. This would make the description more precise and easier to read.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the basic meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and frequent errors affect accuracy. Examples include “In the year 2016 again petroleum products were the highest,” where the comparison is not expressed in a complete, natural structure, and “Agricultural products shows,” where the verb does not agree with its plural subject. Tense and sentence-boundary control are also inconsistent, as in “In 2015 Petroleum products were 70 billion then the rate increased.” Use past-tense reporting consistently, separate linked clauses with appropriate punctuation, and check subject–verb agreement and articles. More controlled sentence patterns would improve clarity.
