Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify several relevant categories and correctly note that gems and jewellery fell by 5.18%, while agricultural products rose by 0.81%. However, the response gives only a minimal account of the chart: it does not report export values or make clear comparisons between 2015 and 2016. The claim that petroleum products “highly increasesd” is vague, and saying textiles were “least” does not specify whether this refers to their value in 2015 or 2016. The conclusion that most products increased is broadly supported, but the overview is not developed. The response also falls 76 words short of the required minimum, leaving the task substantially incomplete. Include a clear overview and key figures for the largest and smallest categories and the main changes.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to move from an introduction to selected details and then a conclusion, and the categories mentioned are relevant to the task. However, the ideas are compressed into one paragraph and do not progress in a clear sequence. The opening shifts abruptly from describing the table to claims about petroleum and engineered goods, while “there are several products are showen” does not clearly connect the examples that follow. The semicolon before “the most of the products” does not create a clear concluding relationship. Use separate paragraphs for an overview and supporting comparisons, and organise the details by increases and decreases or by export value. Clear links such as “By contrast” would help show how the figures relate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “exports,” “petroleum products,” “engineered goods,” and “gems and jewellery,” so the reader can identify the subject and several categories. However, the range is limited and some word choices are imprecise: “highly increasesd” does not clearly describe the size or direction of the change, and “the textiles are least” leaves the comparison unclear. Spelling errors such as “catagories,” “decreesed,” and “agriculculture” are noticeable and reduce clarity. Aim for accurate, standard chart language, such as “rose slightly,” “recorded the lowest value,” and “declined,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would make the comparisons easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to combine information in longer sentences, but sentence structures are limited and errors frequently make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “the petroleum products are highly increasesd in 2015” has an incorrect verb construction and does not clearly state the comparison between years. In “there are several products are showen,” the sentence contains two competing verb structures. Articles and possessives are also missing or inaccurate in “shows value of one countrys exports,” and punctuation is weak, particularly the run-on opening and the semicolon before the conclusion. Practise writing clear simple comparison sentences first, then combine them with accurate clauses. Check verb forms, sentence boundaries, and punctuation before submitting.
